B Lab EU: Hi! Tell us briefly who you are and what your company does.
ECOALF: I’m Carolina and I'm Head & Soul of Innovation & Sustainability at ECOALF. ECOALF is more than just a fashion brand. It was born in 2010 with the clear goal of creating the first generation of recycled products with the same quality, design and technical properties as the best non-recycled products.
ECOALF provides a practical demonstration that there is absolutely no need to continue depleting the Earth’s natural resources for the sake of production. Innovation + Sustainability + Design are our pillars.
We are very focused on WHAT we do, HOW we do it and we know the importance of HOW we communicate. So, one of our goals is to create awareness and invite people to join us to be part of the change, through the movement we have created #BECAUSETHEREISNOPLANETB #ACTNOW
B Lab EU: Why did you decide to become a B Corp?
ECOALF: When I met Daniel Truran (B Lab Spain) for the first time, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I realised there were many other companies with similar purposes, working and fighting, through their businesses, to find solutions to all the environmental and social challenges we have on our planet.
So, at that time, I felt that I (we, ECOALF) have to be part of that movement, to become a B Corp. Also I felt that I will not be alone on this journey anymore.
B Lab EU: What does being a B Corp mean to you?
ECOALF: To be part of a community, completely aligned with our values.
B Lab EU: Have you seen business benefits of being a B Corp?
ECOALF: Yes! Specially working or collaborating with other B Corps.
B Lab EU: What are you looking forward to most about the 2019 Summit?
ECOALF: To meet amazing people…B People and discuss with them our current challenges.
